Building anchorage design and installation
Permanent anchor points, specified in the design, for maintenance, technical cleaning and construction work at height in line with current standards.
What the standards require
NR-18, the Brazilian safety standard for construction, requires buildings 12 m or higher, measured from ground level, to have permanent anchor points, specified in the design (item 18.12.12): devices covering the whole perimeter, rated for a working load of at least 1,500 kgf and included in the structural design. In addition, NR-35 requires the system to be designed by a legally qualified professional (item 35.6.3.1), with an ART (Anotação de Responsabilidade Técnica, the engineer's formal record of responsibility) before work at height is released.
What we do
Our engineering team is qualified to design, size, install and test building anchor points for work at height. The system lets workers carry out maintenance, technical cleaning or construction work at height in compliance with the current standards.
Applicable standards: NR-18 (construction), NR-35 (work at height) and ABNT NBR 16325 (anchorage devices).
Real record: a permanent anchor point installed and identified by LAMP. Each point is designed, installed and tested before release for use.
Detail of the identification plate and steel eye bolt: the record that lets the user know which point they are connecting to, and the inspection that keeps it valid.
Questions about building anchorage
What clients ask us most about anchor points.
Does my building need anchor points?
NR-18 provides for permanent anchor points, specified in the design, so that maintenance, façade cleaning and construction work at height can be done in compliance. If your building does not have them, the route is to design and install them.
What is the difference between building anchorage and a lifeline?
The anchor point is the permanent fixing on the structure; the lifeline is the system, flexible or rigid, that connects to those points. We design both, under NR-35 and ABNT NBR 16325.
Do you test the points after installing them?
Yes. We design, size, install and test the anchorages, and the service is delivered with an ART.
Can the anchorage be used for façade cleaning?
Yes: the system allows maintenance, technical cleaning and construction work at height in line with the standard.
